I have been a massage therapist for 15 years and when I took my final practical, for which I was required to massage my instructor Jerailyn Jones, she declared I have A Gift. I do not sacrifice quality for time and I always strive to improve.
My first massage therapist Ellen Kay, a 1985 graduate of Blue Sky (Lakeside’s competition), became my mentor and we traded massages regularly. Her robust private practice in Mequon, Wisconsin, includes Pilates classes and our trades lasted three hours total on average.
I have worked for myself as well as Andre Chreky Salon Spa in Washington, DC, and in Tallahassee at Bernice at Betton Day Spa with a high rate of repeat and request clientele. My overlapping experiences in the last 7 years at Whole Health Clinic with Dr. Peri Dwyer, with Sandy Schmookler, PT, at Physical Rehabilitation Services, and with Dr. Gregory Iseman at TLC Chiropractic have been fantastic. I’m so glad to have gotten into the medical side of massage therapy and now I work as a coumadin nurse at Southern Medical.
Despite the many benefits of group settings, on my own I like the freedom I have with my time and the resulting thoroughness I afford my clients. I can be more creative and my continuing education is such an investment in my passion. It is just the work for me, especially when people leave smiling and in a relative state of bliss.
When you engage in regular massage, and if you have already have then you know, there is a gradual and steady increase in your health, overall calm and body awareness, and a commitment to Peace. Enjoy!
